So glad you are here! Welcome to Show Me the Truth. I am here to equip you with the tools you need to tackle difficult questions about Christianity and how to answer them to anyone you meet. To do this, I find that blogging is a great way to do so for a number of reasons:
- It is concise and straight to the point. Have you read great articles but found them quite long? I know I have! Good blogs have the reader in mind and provide good information that can be read in a couple of minutes.
- It provides a mechanism for feedback. E-mails and private messages on social media do this, of course. However, it excludes other people from the conversation and sometimes messages go unnoticed or can be seen as spam. This blog allows for comments (see the bottom of this post). You can write comments anonymously if you wish.
- It provides an archive of communications. This feature allows you to catch up if you have missed some of my posts. I think it is quite helpful as you can read the entries that interest you and you can access them any time you want.
- It may encourage you to start your own blog. People use social media for a variety of reasons and sometimes it can be hard to have discussions on topics that are meaningful to you. A blog is a great way to do that.
- It is inexpensive. WordPress, the blogging service and domain that I use, is mostly free. If you would like to upgrade or add certain features, it will cost. It’s hard to beat that.
Here’s how I anticipate this working. I will write a new post twice a month on Saturdays, however, there may be times I may post once a month. Regardless, I will send out an e-mail to everyone when I do, alerting you that a new entry has been posted. From there, it’s up to you.
I value feedback, so please don’t hesitate to provide me with feedback on my posts. I want to hear from you. If you have any questions or would like to respond to questions I ask in my posts, feel free to leave a comment. I would love to get to know you and help you in anyway I can. If you disagree with me or want to provide an alternative perspective, go for it. I want this to be a space for open dialogue that is respectful, loving and productive. The most important thing is for you to be equipped to tackle those difficult questions that your family, friends, classmates, professor, boss or co-worker may throw at you.
I can’t wait to meet you!
